Mama’s Monday Favorite: LeMond Fitness RevMaster Pro

The LeMond Fitness RevMaster Pro is one of the best spinning bikes on the market. I was in heaven the first time I ’spun’ one of these bikes. The bike is not only comfortable, but durable. It is quiet and the tension control simulates uphill riding nicely.

The LeMond Fitness RevMaster Pro gives you tons of adjustment options. The RevMaster allows you to micro adjust saddle hight, saddle forward and backward, and handlebar up and down. The RevMaster allows the adjustment posts to slide freely and lock into position with clamps. The Revmaster also allow the handlebar to slide forward and backward to adjust your reach. The ability to micro adjust the handlebar is important because you won’t have to sacrifice knee/pedal position for reach.

The LeMond Fitness RevMaster Pro isn’t just for skinny minny types. An overweight or obese person can easily ride this bike without fear of falling over or breaking the bike. Watch NBC’s The Biggest Loser and you’ll see the LeMond Fitness in their famous workout gym.

We have the LeMond Fitness bike in the office gym. It is definitely one of the most used items in our office gym.

Mama’s Monday Favorite: Royal Jelly

Royal Jelly is a very potent energy and nutritive tonic. It is a great supplement to strengthen the reproductive systems of both men and women. Taken daily, Royal Jelly increases the quality of men’s sperm and increases the quality of women’s eggs. Royal Jelly has also been used effectively in the treatment of malnutrition in children, arthritis, and leukemia. Royal Jelly is popular among vegetarians who need rich animal nutrition.

Food fit for a Queen? You bet it is. Royal Jelly is the exclusive food of the Queen Bee. Royal Jelly is the refined syrup, made from bee pollen that is used to feed queen bees. Chinese herbalists combine Royal Jelly with ginseng to build energy.

Royal Jelly is made by nurse bees who chew pollen and mix it with secretions from glands in their head tops. The production of Royal Jelly is very time consuming. A well-managed hive during a season of 5–6 months can produce approximately 500 g of royal jelly

Royal Jelly is available in capsules, freeze-dried powder, and preserved in honey.

A rare breed of love: Baby and others like her

Baby, a female dog used to breed puppies to sell to puppy stores spent the first 9 years of her life in a metal cage. “After years of standing and lying in a wire case, a soft bed was heaven for Baby. Her nightly ritual, when I put her to bed, is to spend several minutes burrowing her head into the fluffy blankets and pilliows with delirious abandon before she curls up beside me”. An excerpt from A Rare Breed of Love by Jana Kohl, Psy.D.

The video below shows Baby after she was rescued by Jana Kohl.

Special of the day: Pain relief with a side of increased risk of heart attack and stroke

I am a big fan of holistic health. The marvels of western medicine are extensive, but all too often, the side effects of prescribed medicine are more damaging than the ailment in questions.

A few weeks ago, I suffered an intense and severe muscle strain in my back while tending to my garden. My doctor prescribed Naproxen to relieve the pain and reduce inflammation. Unfortunately, I had no interest in taking Naproxen, my miracle drug to relieve the aches and pains of my muscle spasm. Never mind I could barely walk, and when I did, my stride resembled that of an 82 year-old woman who had seen better days. I was hesitant to take Naproxen because some of it’s side effects include increased risk of heart attack and stroke. It was like a waiter at my favorite restaurant telling me that the special of the day is, “Naproxen, served with a delicious side of increased risk of heart attack and stroke”. Sounds tempting, but today’s special will have to wait for another day. I’d rather go to the restaurant next door where their daily special includes a side of acupuncture, paired with a slowly baked massage treatment.

Better saved or sorry?

Money is the thing that drives us
The more we have
The greedier we are
The less we have
The more we want

Money is power
If we have it
We can get what we want
If we have it
We only want more

Money is nothing but hate
It makes us steal
It makes us kill
Money is nothing… but hell

Animals have personalities too: Think Before You Eat

It is often difficult to put a face to the meat you eat. I love steak, but when I think of a cow who was a part of an animal community, I can’t bear to take another bite. Every single animal that has been cooked or eaten had a unique personality. Let me give you a quick rundown on the personality types of some popular ‘dinner’ animals to give more perspective of what may appear on your dinner table:

  • Chickens: Chickens are intelligent animals that are very curious and have even been likened to cats and dogs because of their social qualities. They like to spend time outdoors lying in the sun and roosting.
  • Cows: Cows are known to be sweet and incredibly gentle, regardless of their size. They are also very smart and have the understanding to attempt daring escapes from being slaughtered in farms.
  • Fish: Surprisingly, fish do feel pain and actually have personalities that make them all as individual as a cat or a dog. Some can be more aggressive, and others have been known to be loners that work well to live in a single home.
  • Pigs: Pigs are so smart that many people have them as pets instead of dogs. There are numerous sayings referring to dirty conditions is a pigsty, but pigs themselves love to keep clean and spend time outdoors in the sun.
  • Turkeys: Turkeys may seem like just another bird, but they actually like to listen to music and being petted, and they have even been known to sing along!
