I pledge to end the using of plastic single use bags - and want to thank you for helping make it easier to do this by giving away the reuseable bags.

I do recycle and I am glad to say that I also teach my children the importance of recycling. I have not used plastic bags in a very long time now I use fabric bags and I make my own as well. I show my kids taht littering is also wrong because people don't realize how dirty it makes our streets seem when they throw their trash on the ground as if it were going to disappear. We recycle everything we have and as an arts and crafts person there is always a use for the many things we buy and are done using for example my coffe containers I use to store miscellaneous item in order to control the clutter. I was once told of an idea which my kids enjoy when it comes to bottle caps of all sizes if you ahve a permanent marker number them and it works as a great math center for the children because they can use them to count whether it's addition, subtraction, ractions, multiplication or division.

I am making my pledge to stop using one-use bags. I am so tired of seeing them on the roads and highways, blowing around, getting caught-up under the car. And don't get me started on the fact that they will never breakdown and go away or about the poor animals who have become trapped in these bags an end up dying. What horrible pictures I have seen.

Thank you for doing something positive that people will respond to. These cities and towns who want to charge for plastic bag use think it will curtail the problem, they're wrong. People will pay the 3-5 cents, even 10 cents, rather than be inconvenienced.

The hardest part is to pledge to start putting all of my reusable totes in my car (and not use them for totes)so everytime I go to the store I will not have to use the plastic baggies. The site of them in tall trees bothers me because how will they ever get down. I guess I just need more REUSABLE totes
