Hold That Thought?

I’m too fat.

It’s always my fault.

I never win anything.

I can’t do anything right.

Nothing ever goes my way.

(Insert name here) is better at (insert action here) than me.

I’m not smart enough.

I’m too thin.

I hate to (choose one or all) bike, run, walk in the heat/cold.

I can’t (choose one or all) dance, draw, paint or sing.

I hate my (choose one or all) thighs, butt, arms, breasts.

My (insert body part here) is/are too big/small.

I’ll always be lonely.

Usually when you hear someone say, “Hold that thought!” it’s because a flash of brilliance has occurred and some creative kinkiness is happening that’s so good, folks are just sparking off of each other. We get so charged up when that happens and everyone feels, authentic, brilliant and brave.

Sometimes though, those suckers creep in. Negative thoughts. When you see it all up there out of your head and in black and white it’s crazy isn’t it?

It’s those negative thoughts that lead us to over or under eat, become inactive, feed our addictive behaviors and keep us from making healthy decisions mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Our thoughts about ourselves should be sweet and juicy and make us sparkle from the inside out. Who are you to tell yourself you are sparkly, brilliant and perfect just as you are? Who are you to tell yourself that you are not?

So “Hold that thought!” only when it’s a good one.
