Public Exposure: pride or shock value?

A few nights ago, a friend of mine took her boyfriend to the hospital (he’s ok). After the Triage nurse took her boyfriend’s vitals, a nurse wheeled him into a little waiting area. The nurse informed him that a room would be available in a few minutes. While standing behind her boyfriend and waiting for him to be placed in a room, my friend felt someone looking at her. She turned around and there HE was, a young, unattractive male (in his 20s) had struck a pose that exposed his full frontal and was worthy of a “Rated R” label. My friend quickly turned around and hoped that her boyfriend’s room would be available soon.

Another story was told to me a few years ago. A male friend was traveling on the Blue Line Metro. The Blue Line is a public commuter rail system that spans from downtown Long Beach to downtown Los Angeles. While on the Blue Line, a heated discussion occurred between two male passengers. Male Number 1 called Male Number 2 a derogatory term. To prove Male Number 1 wrong, Male Number 2 pulled down his pants and exposed his naked self to all of the passengers on the Blue Line. The heated conversation turned into a fit of giggles and laughter.

This is something I don’t quite understand, why do we expose ourselves?

Ugh, I know the feeling. I walked in on my brother getting dressed in his room…don’t want to see that again!

My co-worker and I were driving on a street near a university. To our surprise, 3 girls came running out of one house and ran down the street to another. All 3 of them were naked. They were laughing like it was some type of prank or something. One thing for sure, they got our attention.
